Today I'm Obsessing Over...

Miniature Gardens!!

Hi all :) Woo, its been forever! A quick catch up here, since my last update I have lived in a horrendous hotel that ended in BEDBUGS. (AHHHH) Moved to a trailer community filled with mostly retirees, with a pool, mini golf and cheap rent, found a job I really liked, but I quickly learned didn't pay enough to even pay the cheap rent, quit that job (!) and am currently looking for a new, better paying one. Also my sister and I won tickets to Universal and had a grand old time. But enough with that onto today's subject!!

If you know me, then its no secret that I am a child at heart. I would still play with my barbies to this day if my step dad hadn't forced me to leave them behind in a move.  Building a dollhouse and filling it with those adorable miniatures is on my bucket list. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that  when I saw these adorable miniature gardens I shrieked in delight and immediately decided to add making one to my project list.  Now to figure out what theme I want to do...

The first one I stumbled across was this one by John Millman. After coming across this one I knew I had to find more!

So that search led me to find the work of the super talented Janit Calvo, of The Mini Garden Guru. WOW. That is all I can say. If my attempt turns out half as well as any of hers, then every spare pot and clot of dirt I can find will likely be decorated in tiny miniatures!! Here are some recent examples taken from her site. Please take a minute or thirty to go browse her wonderful blog, it should prove most magical and inspirational.

This next one is my favorite: The Eat Pray Love Garden!

A closer detail shot. Look at those tiny Vespas!

As much as I am in it for the squee factor for all those minis, the shape of the tree in this shot is what takes this pot from good to amazing. It really tricks you into believing that its full sized. Doesn't it look like a perfect tree for climbing?

I hope that you have enjoyed these as much as I am/have! How about you guys,do you think miniature gardening is amazing or a waste of time? Got a theme suggestion for my future mini? Let me hear all about it in the comments!

I know! I am loving the tiny vespas. I go back in forth in thinking ooh I wish I had these for my dolls when I was little(or now) and imagining little fae playing about on these. I need to make one. I want to make a little hobbit house mini garden!
