My latest Influenster Voxbox!

I recently received my latest Voxbox from Influenster, and man was I excited! I love the air of mystery that comes with them not telling you exactly what you'll be receiving. It is like a little gift from the mail gods. My mailman is my hero.

This time I opened it to find...

Dessange Oleo Miracle Shampoo, Condiotioner and oil!

Exciting, amiright?! I mean, what girl doesn't *love* trying new hair products? That's right, no one.

My Perspective:
  • Appearance/Packaging: Eh, honestly I think they were going for high end, but to me it feels very dollar store 90's. V05 anyone? The bottles are very functional though, especially that of the oil bottle which has a pump. I love that, because the oil I use most often you just pour and it is really easy to overdo. Rating 3/5
  • Scent: I didn't love it initially, the shampoo and conditioner come off very floral to me. I thought it was Gardenia, which makes me itch, but it was Camelia, so no itching. (YAY) The oil's fragrance is much more subtle and I do pick up some sort of spicy smell. I prefer it. Rating 3/5
  • Shampoo: It lathers nicely and leaves my hair feeling quite clean, but the first time I used it I was very confused because after rinsing it left my hair feeling very dry. I haven't really had that happen before and was thrown. My hair stays cleaner feeling longer and there is no oiliness, which since I typically wash my hair every three days, can sometimes be an issue. Rating 3.5/5
  • Conditioner: For me the conditioner is the star of the show. It is very creamy but not so thick that it makes it difficult to evenly coat your hair. For whatever reason I only need to use about half of what I would typically use and get great coverage. It rinses really easily. On top of that I immediately noticed that my hair felt and looked softer. Win! Rating 4/5
  • Oil: The scent is really light, and a little bit spicy, which I really like. The oil itself isn't very thick and doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy. I love that. It does however leave my hair looking very greasy, so I don't love that. Because of that I only use it when I don't have to leave the house for any reason. It is really great for Satina's hair though, her curls love it and it helps them be shiny and manageable. Rating 2.5/5 for me.

  • Price: Obviously I received these for free from Influenster, but I did check the prices at Target (ugh, how much do I love Target?!) and for me they were a bit higher than I would have expected, with the shampoo and conditioner (8.5oz) each costing 9.99, and the oil (3.4oz) is 11.99.

Overall I would probably recommend these products to someone with thick hair (the oil especially) or dry and damaged hair like mine. I do especially love the conditioner, and if I were to purchase any of the products that would what I would get.

If you too would like the chance to try new products for free, join Influenster. If you do so through this link I will get points added to my account.
