Snarky
and a bit sassy, this book reads exactly like Tan speaks. It’s part
memoir and part advice column. While the book does give us peeks into
who Tan was growing up and who he is now it still feels a bit guarded, like he
wasn’t fully committed to letting the reader in. As such I didn’t come
away knowing too much more than I already did as a fan of the show. Maybe its because he's British, or maybe he just wasn't ready to let us fully in. It was
still a quick and enjoyable read but I would have liked more. LET ME LOVE YOU, TAN. Just kidding, I already do. He's delightful.
But can we discuss the fact that he isn't rocking the French Tuck on his own book cover? I mean, that's his signature look!
I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press!
