Happy Halloween :)

Hi all :) Hope your Halloween was fun and fabulous! Ours was crazy busy and fun! It was made up of bounce houses, carnival rides and free food. Free is my favorite number!

Hi all :) I have neglected this  a bit the past week, but I have been and continue to be busy with Halloween preparations. I cannot believe its in four days! We don't even have a pumpkin yet! We are getting one tomorrow though.  We still haven't finished Satina's costume. Heck I don't even have a costume idea for myself or an idea of where to go. This Halloween will be a failure I think haha. Yet I did manage to create some pretty adorable treats for Satina's kindergarten class and teacher. We took them in today and they LOVED them. It was so cute! Oohing and aahing and shouting with excitement. I love little kids. Anyway, the ideas were found on pinterest, and executed accordingly with only a single set back. Originally we were going to make tissue paper pumpkins to be the treat bags, but when all was said and done..EEW. They looked like lumpy fluorescent garlic. Not appealing. Thankfully we got some adorable Frankenstein bags at the Dollar Tree last minute!
Tootsie Pop Spiders. Super cute.
The blue were my favorites. Pretty and poseable!
Chocolate Bar Ghost. Bats were made also and were ADORABLE. Template .
Bats, Ghosts and Mummy Juice Boxes
Mrs. Cloud's basket. Everything the kids had too. Candy bar ghosts and bats, spiders, mummy juice box, pencils, erasers, bubbles and treat bag full of candy :)
All wrapped up! I think its pretty cute, and she seemed really impressed too!

On top of it being the week before Halloween, its also a four day week and drug free/spirit week at Satina's school. They had red day(monday), on which she looked SUPER cute, like a little cheerleader. Tuesday was camo day, wednesday was pajama day and today was jersey/sports team day. Of course I forgot to take pictures everyday but today, which for me is practically tragic! I need those for her kindergarten scrap book. Maybe I will make her recreate the days. Wacko. Anyway, here she is in her baby blue Jacksonville Jaguars jersey, blue and white striped leggings and a blue and white gingham bow. She looked really cute!

Hi all :) I've got nothing of particular interest to mention today, so I thought I would overload your cute sensors instead.

Times like these I really have to fight my inner Elmira.

Procrastination Nation

Hi all :) I fully intended to make a post today with a Halloween makeup look, but unfortunately laziness won over and I didn't get around to doing the look today. ha! Maybe Monday! All I did today was sit around and catch up on all the episodes thus far of season 3 of The Sing Off . I LOVE this show, I only was able to watch about half of season 1 and somehow missed season 2 all together, but when I can watch it, man am I in love. I swoon. Acapella at its finest. There is some SERIOUS competition this year too! Not to mention Nick Lachey is the host and while I sort of hate him because of the Jessica Simpson thing, hes still good looking. And the judges!! Two words, SHAWN STOCKMAN. As in Boys II Men. Holy Crappola. Hes handsome and an amazing singer. Sigh. Oh and Ben Folds and Sara Bareilles round out the trio. I like them but they ain't got nothing on Shawn ;) My favorites so far are (in alphabetical order not preferred):

  •  Afro-Blue - Honestly, I liked them but didn't LOVE them until they covered and completely flipped Estelle's American Boy (see below). It rocked me, and it was amazing.
  • North Shore - Traditional duwop. Exactly what it sounds like, classic and perfection. I think they are going to do well.
  • Pentatonix - One of my top two. You would never ever expect them to sound/perform like you do. Love them. Hope they go all the way to the finals.
  • Urban Method - Apparently Denver has a strong music scene. Who knew? These guys are really good, and their rap-apella sets them apart. And dude who raps (forgot his name!) is super hot. BONUS!
  • Vocal Point - 9 guys from Brigham-Young. One is an Aussie. All are amazing. I never thought Mormons were so fun! My top favorite.
If you haven't watched it yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? You can watch all the episodes on NBC.

Just A Thought

Hi all :) Hope all is well with you!

I have recently begun to reevaluate things in my life, and have come to some serious conclusions. One being that I spend WAY too much time on the internet. No jokes, being serious. It kind of makes me sad how absolutely dependent on technology, specifically computers, that life has become. Not just for me of course, for everyone. So that being said, I have been toying with the idea of maybe falling off the "grid" for a little while. Disconnecting if you will. I don't know for how long maybe a week, perhaps longer. Only time will tell. Anyways, I haven't fully given myself over to the idea because lets be honest here, the internet is ADDICTING. Which is of course the problem. Anyway, what are your thoughts? Any input? Whatever decision I make I will let you all know before the fact!

On another note, I promise to wear this daily if someone buys it for me, its a mere $4,700 dollars. I am pretty sure I need this. If I were Lady Gaga I would have snapped it up ages ago!

Tiresome Trends

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love STUFF. There is so much awesomeness out there to see and have, I love it! That being said some stuff is SO OVERDONE. For the most part I don't care, if you want to be a  fanatic over something, so be it, however I do get sick of seeing the same things over and over and over. If I had it my way I would forever abolish the following:

3. Cupcakes - To clarify, I love cupcakes, I see the appeal I really do. They are cute, customizable and DELICIOUS. Do a search on Etsy for "cupcake" and you will get almost 88,000 results! I wouldn't really abolish them, just all the items brandishing their image. Except baby clothing, because that is acceptable.

2.Keep Calm and Carry On Posters - At first I loved them, there are some really witty ones out there. There are also thirty thousand different varieties and it seems I have seen them all. How about coming up with something a little more original people!

And my number one most disliked trend is.....

(drumroll)

1.Mustaches - IT MAKES NO SENSE. Yes I have drawn a mustache on my face before, who hasn't? However, ITS GONE TOO FAR. There is just no reason for mustache tattoos, jewelry, clothing, dinnerware etc. Please someone kill this trend, and kill it with fire.

(created and found at Sweet Coconut Lime )

Okay, that was hypocritical, but in this case the mustache is acceptable. Also funny. Sue me. I still tire of seeing them everywhere. I don't even like facial hair.* Anyway, so how about you, what trends would you love to see disappear forever?
*An exception to this rule would be made for Gerard Butler, in case you are reading out there ;)

Bored?

A Facebook friend of mine shared a really simple and completely fun website yesterday. I would be lying if I said I wasn't entertained for about half an hour! Go check out Draw A Stickman. To coerce you into doing so I screencapped a part of my adventure! Lol, clearly I am no artiste'. Enjoy!

I'm Running Away With The Circus

Sigh. Perhaps I should. Or maybe I was traveled with one in a past life. I love the idea of them, but perhaps not the politics of them. I wish they cared more for their animals. The magic is still there. The colors, the sounds, the smells its just encapsulating. Perhaps that explains my want of going to Clown Camp. Or my dream of running an elephant sanctuary. Or the desire I have to have a pet lion. Complete with lion hugs. Which is the purpose of this post really, lion hugs. I am obsessed with the idea. That and polar bear hugs, but that is far less documented. Anyways how sweet/loving do these beautiful lions seem. Someone get me one already!!

See?!?! How amazing/adorable/squeeee! I want one or twelve.

26

Well yesterday I turned the big 2-6. Finally crossed into the second quarter of life. Maybe I will get out of this quarter life crisis now? Probably not, knowing me! Oh well. So yesterday, for my birthday, the family and I went to the Buddhist temple up the street from my house, and then checked out the GORGEOUS Wekiwa Springs. There was chinese food between these two places, but man mediocre chinese is mediocre. I mean, how can you possibly mess up rice noodles? How can you say you have no green beans when you are snapping them two tables over. Sadness. Ugh enough with that mess of a distraction, onto the pictures!
