Back After A Forced Hiatus.

Hi all :) My computer called in sick BIG TIME this past week. Sorry!!

Last night I decided to try out the mud mask that's been sitting in the cabinet for the past three months. I have never used one before, not for lack of trying but all my past attempts have been foiled by those clear easy peel pretenders. I was pretty excited about it and got to really slathering it on. Somewhere around the midpoint of application I had the brilliant idea to use it to be a plastic soldier for Halloween next year. That thought has since been amended. Anyway so I slathered the stuff on and was feeling all glamorous and thought hey! I should totally put some cucumbers on my eyes. Then I realized two things a) I was cold and my refrigerator all but freezes its contents and b) it is awfully hard to watch a movie with your eyes covered. (I Am Number Four, good movie great book). It's just as well because it was right about that time that I caught sight of myself in the mirror and went from feeling that I looked like this:
To feeling as if I fell into this:
A huge pile of steamy triceratops poop. Glamour gone. Oh well, I went ahead and started watching my movie as the mask did its thing. The package said to allow it to dry for 10 minutes but it was more like 25 minutes later that I realized I should probably take the thing off. It only occurred to me then because it had pulled so tight in drying that I could no longer close my mouth all the way. So I headed into the bathroom only to discover that my face was no longer my own but more like the mask in THE MASK (I love that movie btw). Of course being the irrational being that I am I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to remove it and that it would take over me as it does in the movie. Now that I think of it, Jim had a lot of fun. Maybe that wouldn't have been so bad after all. I digress. So I start washing the thing off and not in that graceful face wash commercial way either. I tried splashing my face and all that happened was poopy green-brown water/sludge ran all over my face, neck and chest as well as every clear bathroom surface around. But I finally got it off and excitedly checked my skin in the mirror to find...awful red blotchiness. Not exactly the results I was hoping for. Sigh. However after I finished watching my movie I looked again and aha! my face looked MUCH better. I thought it may have been wishful thinking but I have checked several times today and it still looks pretty good. It was quite a journey but when all is said and done, I am glad that I tried it out because it was (almost) totally worth it. Next time I will apply before I get in the shower to avoid the splash fiasco.

ps. If you google cucumber eyes you and scan through the pages it gets kind of creepy. The people go from relaxation seekers to human-fly hybrids out for your soul.
pps. No Soda November is going great! 15 days free :)
ppps.Today I am thankful to have my computer back in working order. I would die without my little pink netbook!!

I Didn't Make This, But I May As Well Have.

Hi all :) Found this beauty on Pinterest. There wasn't any credit information so if you know where it originated let me know so I can credit them! Anyways, how often do I say this? Even on here its been said a couple times. Its like they know me :D

 perfect, no?

I am a little behind on my 'thankfuls' once I backtrack and figure out how many days I missed I will catch up. Sorry bout that!

Today I am thankful that this eating/drinking healthier goal is going so easily for me so far. I have tried in the past with no success but so far this time I feel much more motivated! Eight days and counting. Woohoo. Hopefully I can say the same for the rest of the month, at least!

Hi all :) Things are going decent here, all is well on the water front.  We had Satina's picture taken with Santa today so expect to see the picture soon! Its crazy how quickly this year has flown by. A sign of old age I am told. Oh well. Anyway nothing amazing to share so I thought I would show you my eotd since its been ages since I have.

Just a simple pink and gray, but it was nice to break up all the neutrals I have been wearing.

Today I am thankful for my family. I never get to see them anymore but just knowing that they are there and happy and prospering makes me the happiest person alive. I love them all more than they could ever possibly know. I am so fortunate to be part of a family so close knit. I would be lying if I didn't say I am a little homesick but I definitely dont see myself moving back to Texas anytime soon.

Hi all :) Today my laptop cord, that I have had for just over a month burned up. As in throwing sparks and completely broke in half. This is about the sixth cord in the 2.5 years I have had the computer. I bought it off of ebay new, and it supposedly has a three year warranty so I contacted them and am waiting for a response. Fingers crossed they actually replace it! Also Satina and I carved a jack-o-lantern today. Yeah its November, but we still had a pumpkin left unadorned and it made her happy. It was proven once again that unlike this guy my destiny does not lie in pumpkin carving. I guess I will keep looking! Also, just as a quick update, I am still completely soda free (day four) and amazed at how easy its been. I am almost scared to jinx myself! I would like to think  that my willpower and motivation is just stronger this time :) Enough rambling.

*Today I am thankful that every gray cloud has a silver lining. As in, sure my cord caught on fire but nothing else did!*

Headache Free And It Feels SO Good!

Hi all :)
Today I am thankful that I am not so jaded that I have stopped seeing the world for what it is. Beautiful, magical, and full of potential. I have faith in humanity. The look on a strangers face can make me smile, I still get excited about childish things and movies I loved growing up. I am so lucky in this. Many that I know do not look at things in the same way, they are so cynical and serious and its just sad. Often I describe myself to others as being Peter Pan, because they are all growing up and I remain the same. Its a blessing and sometimes a curse, but I am thankful that it allows me to see.

How true. I plan on printing and framing this as soon as I possibly can, for it is a great reminder.

I expected to be much worse for ware on day two of my caffeine free journey, but surprisingly its been a good day! After I finally got rid of the horrible headache I had yesterday all is well. Knock on wood. I don't wanna jinx myself.
